Moxibustion
We burn an herb called Mugwort at various points to treat a variety of problems such as immune system weakness or fluid swelling/ edema. The herb is sometimes burned on the Acupuncture needles or other times indirectly on the skin. The patient will typically feel a pleasant and warm sensation.
Cupping Therapy
You have probably already seen the marks! Reddish perfectly round circles typically on the back or neck. Glass or Plastic Cups create suction to loosen muscle fascia tightness and relieve pain. They do leave these famous painless marks made popular by the US Olympic Swimmer, Michael Phelps, at the Rio Olympic Games. Cupping has been around for thousands of years as practiced in China. We utilize classic techniques to relieve your pain.
Wet Cupping Therapy
This variation on classic Cupping Therapy involves puncturing the skin and then placing the cup over the painful area. It is a combination of Microbleeding and Cupping. We use it for conditions like Shingles and Sciatica. It can be incredibly effective for stubborn pain! This variation on classic Cupping Therapy, also called Sliding Cupping, involves loosening larger painful areas at one time through motion. Feel the tightness disappear after a session!
Moving Cupping Therapy
Micro Bleeding
A few drops of blood are released to reduce pressure on tight and inflammed body parts. Microbleeding works especially well for Sciatica, Nausea, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Shingles and Interstitial Cystitis. We also treat many Difficult and Stubborn conditions with this technique when many Acupuncturists do not. This is one of the reasons we see success when patients come to us who have not had success with other Doctors.
Electrostimulation
A mild electrical current is administered into Acupuncture needles to effectively treat Pain and many other conditions. Similar to a TENS unit, it is more gentle and effective as it penetrates deeper into the body since it is clipped to the stainless steel needles.
Ear Acupuncture
Tiny Pins embedded in band aids are worn in the ear for up to a week to treat conditions like anxiety or control the appetite for weight loss. One of our patients coined the phrase Acupuncture To Go because you get to take the treatment with you!
